Jesuit Volunteer EnCorps members bring expertise, insight and years of real-world experience to our partner agencies. They serve at least four hours per week (or 2,000 hours per year) at their assigned placement, working closely with agency leaders and JV EnCorps to schedule their time for maximum impact.
JV EnCorps members are not employees of JVC Northwest or the partner agency. They are volunteers, supported and strengthened by their affiliation with other EnCorps members and JVC Northwest's half a century of service in the Pacific Northwest. JVC Northwest can help partner agencies find and screen potential volunteers, or an established volunteer-agency relationship could be enhanced by the added personal and professional support of the JV EnCorps community.
Key Dates:
- Volunteer's initial term of service: January 9, 2012 through June 30, 2012. However, EnCorps members will be encouraged to extend their service for an additional, full, program year from September, 2012 through June, 2013
We seek partner agencies who respect our Ignatian, catholic heritage (click here to learn more about our mission) and share our commitment to one or more of the following priorities:
- Serving people who are economically poor and others on society's margins
- Working for ecological or social justice
- Advocacy to transform unjust or oppressive social structures
