MICAH GATHERING FOR FJVS AND FRIENDS

July 22 - July 25, 2010, Whidbey Island, WA

Micah is a nonprofit organization created in 1992 by former Jesuit Volunteers and their families/friends to support each other in living out the values they experienced as Jesuit Volunteers.  Since 1992, we have gathered annually for a weekend to continue reflecting on the values of spirituality, community, simple living, and social justice beyond our Jesuit Volunteer year(s) experience. Our gathering is a great way to network, relax, and have fun, and the weekend is organized in a spirit of love and celebration (ie-some structure, but lots of free time as well). We are planning our next fabulous weekend Micah Gathering which will be from Thursday evening, July 22 to Sunday morning, July 25, 2010 at Camp Casey on Whidbey Island, WA. You are invited to join in the 2010 Micah Gathering for all or part of the weekend. If you are interested in learning more about Micah and this great event from July 22-25, 2010, please contact Lisa Dennison (Seattle, 81-82) at lisa2karl@aol.com or Patty Houts-Hussey ('73-74) at micah@whidbey.com.

JV Orientation 2010

Please join us for the 2010-11 JV Orientation.  Come for one or many days!  This year's banquet and Missioning liturgy will take place on Friday, August 6th beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Camp Adams just outside of Molalla, Oregon.  Click here for directions to Camp Adams.

You are invited to join us for this event, or at any time during the week to eat meals and sing with us, join in sessions and share your JV story.  Most importantly, you can help make the new Volunteers feel welcome and appreciated!  If you do plan to join us, please contact Leah Nusse at lnusse@jvcnorthwest.org or 503-335-8202.  FJVs staying overnight are encouraged to camp, but there are limited spaces available for indoor lodging.  Please indicate if you will need overnight accommodations and if you have any dietary restrictions.  Additionally, please contact us if you are traveling from one of our JV community locales and are able to transport JVs to their new community at the end of "O."

We have a wonderful week planned for the incoming JVs with each day focusing on one of the four values:

Monday - Welcome

Tuesday - Simple Living

Wednesday - Community

Thursday - Social Justice
