volunteers - requirements of service
Jesuit Volunteers (JV) come to the Northwest from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and locations. Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest welcomes all individuals regardless of age, culture, economic status, ethnic origin, gender, physical challenge or sexual orientation. The basic requirements for service are that the applicant is 21 years or older and has a college degree or applicable work experience. Volunteers may be single or married with no dependents.
JVC Northwest welcomes flexible and committed individuals who wish to embrace community, simple living, social justice, and spirituality in everyday life.
Several placements require a specific certification, such as teaching. There is a particular need for nurses, teachers and persons fluent or proficient in Spanish, and persons willing to experience a cultural environment different from their own. Please contact the JVC Northwest office to find out if specific certification is required for a placement you are interested in.
